There are A LOT of storylines heading into the Super Bowl, which now 13 days away (02.06.11) in Arlington, Texas at Cowboys stadium.

First you have the No. 6 Green Bay Packers, winners of the NFC by knocking out Jay Cutler and defeating the Chicago Bears 21-14. The Packers franchise have been to the Super Bowl four times, winning in ’67, ’68, ’97 and losing to Denver in ’98.

This will be the Packers fifth appearance and first since that ’97 season. This will also be Aaron Rodgers first Super Bowl with the Packers, post-Favre era.

Then you have the No. 2 Pittsburgh Steelers, winners of the AFC for the third time since ’06, holding off the Jets 24-19. This is the Jets second consecutive loss in the AFC Championship game. Ben Roethlisberger is already a two-time Super Bowl champion (’06 & ’09).

As for the Steelers organization, this is nothing new for them. 7 Super Bowl appearances, winning 6. Their only loss was in ’96 to the Cowboys.

Aaron Rodgers, who went 17-30, 244 yds., 2 int. and a rush td. said that this team has changed over the past couple of seasons.

“The biggest difference between this team & the previous two season’s is our character,” Rodgers said.

Roethlisberger went 10-19, 133 yds., one rush td. and 2 int. He said this was probably one of the most emotional wins for him after the season he went through.

“God is good, and this one is for the Steeler fans,”  Roethlisberger said.

The Packers will now try to bring the Lombardi Trophy back to its first home which is Green Bay, while the Steelers are going for their 3rd Super Bowl victory in 5 years and 7th overall for the franchise.
