There are A LOT of storylines heading into the Super Bowl, which now 13 days away (02.06.11) in Arlington, Texas at Cowboys stadium.
First you have the No. 6 Green Bay Packers, winners of the NFC by knocking out Jay Cutler and defeating the Chicago Bears 21-14. The Packers franchise have been to the Super Bowl four times, winning in ’67, ’68, ’97 and losing to Denver in ’98.
Then you have the No. 2 Pittsburgh Steelers, winners of the AFC for the third time since ’06, holding off the Jets 24-19. This is the Jets second consecutive loss in the AFC Championship game. Ben Roethlisberger is already a two-time Super Bowl champion (’06 & ’09).
As for the Steelers organization, this is nothing new for them. 7 Super Bowl appearances, winning 6. Their only loss was in ’96 to the Cowboys.
Aaron Rodgers, who went 17-30, 244 yds., 2 int. and a rush td. said that this team has changed over the past couple of seasons.
“The biggest difference between this team & the previous two season’s is our character,” Rodgers said.
