The streak ends tonight!

13 Dec

This just in: Vikings QB Brett Favre inactive (shoulder) for tonight’s game against the Giants; consecutive games started streak snapped at 297.

The last time Favre, who is now 41, didn’t start a game was on Sept. 20, 1992, when he replaced an injured Don Majkowski to start a 16-year run as the starting QB of the Green Bay Packers.

Favre’s streak is 92 games more than the second-longest streak among QBs in NFL history, held by the Indianapolis Colts’ Peyton Manning, who started his 205th straight game last week.

The last time Brett Favre didn’t start a game, George Bush was President.

This one.
